Homeboyz too good for Nakuru

Homeboyz rugby resurgence continued as they whipped winless Nakuru RFC 33-15 in a Kenya Cup match at Jamhuri Grounds on Saturday.

The visitors Nakuru, eyeing their first win of the season were quick off the blocks scoring a try through Gideon Mbithi. The hosts then responded with18 unanswered points that saw them lead 18-5 at halftime.

The Deejays first try came from Felix Odhiambo and Amon Wamalwa converted for a 7-5 lead. Wamalwa added a three pointer before converting Brian Mutugi’s try.

In the second half, Dan Githanga pulled back for Wanyore, landing a try that saw his side move to 10 points. Mohammed Omollo stretched the lead for the deejays with a penalty as the scores changed to 21-10.

Tom Maina joined the scoresheet with the third try for Homeboyz and Omollo converted for a 28-10 lead. Augustine Lugonzo came off the bench to score the final try for Homeboyz. The try saw his side earn a bonus point from the match.

Nakuru’s third try came later in the half with Edwin Anunda scoring for 33-15 full time score, Nakuru have lost four matches and drawn once.
