Kenya 7s and Oilers’ Harold Anduvate to miss better part of 2021/22 season

Menengai Oilers and Kenya 7s will miss the services o Harold Anduvate as they head to the new season.

Head Coach Gibson Weru revealed the player is out injured and is set to miss the better part of the season.

“Anduvate is injured, so we will not have him as we kick off the season,” Gibu told the Scrummage.

The Scrummage understands the player tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the knee while training for Safari 7 Tournament with Shujaa and was forced to miss the tournament held in October.

Anduvate underwent surgery on Thursday this week and has begun the healing process. His injury has also ruled him out the opening legs of the 2022 World 7s Series.

The forward who can also slot in at centre has had his run disrupted with injuries as he had a shoulder injury in the 2019/20 season and had to miss the remainder of the season after surgery.

His absence means his side will rely on new signing John Okoth, Dennis Abukuse, and Austin Sikutwa for midfield duties.

Oilers have signed Okoth, Stanley Isogol, Wallace Onyango, Albert Obura, Peter Misango, Brian Sinei and Destirious Ifedha.
