Strathmore Leos beef up squad ahead of Kenya Cup season

Strathmore Leos have beefed up their squad ahead of the Kenya Cup campaign scheduled to start off later this month.

Forwards Jacob Owaa and Owade Obungu join the club from Homeboyz RFC and Impala Saracens. Nyaienya Moseti links with the club from Racecourse-based Nondies.

Festus Shasia Safari who joined the club in January on a loan deal from Mean Machine is set to stay with the Madaraka based side.

The club has also tied down Kenya Under 20 duo Shem Okola and Tony Amoyah who joined the club on loan from Northern Suburbs. Collins Maina, Patrick Kluivert, Alton Chasia from Northern Suburbs have also extended their stay with the Varsity side.

Tony Okello joins Leos from Catholic Monks while Stanislaus Shikoli and Raymond Chacha from Utumishi Academy and Denis Mbilah from Mang’u have been enlisted with the side.

Head Coach Louis Kisia confirmed the new signings to the Scrummage and revealed that Maxwell Omondi has returned to Catholic Monks.

The side which had a strong finish in the 2021 Kenya Cup will be keen to replicate the same run in the 2021/22 season. Strathmore Leos managed a semi-final appearance in the campaign losing to Kabras RFC.

In the regular season, they had four wins and two draws amassing 27 points.
