Kenya Rugby Union has announced the appointment of Peter Drewett to the High-Performance Consultant role.
Drewett will assist High Performance programme encompassing Kenya Simbas, Kenya 7s, Kenya Lionesses and Kenya under 20 and will work closely with the technical teams towards the required outcomes.
Speaking on his appointment, Kenya Rugby Union Chairman Oduor Gangla said.
“The KRU is pleased to have Peter on board and we look forward to tapping into his vast experience as we seek to scale new heights through reinforced capacity building for the personnel within our entire national squad set up,” he told KRU.
Drewett started off his role with England RFU where he rose to the rank of England U21 Manager and National Player Development Manager, serving between 1992 and 2006.
It is during this stint that he guided the England U21s to two Six Nations Grand Slams in 2004 and 2006.
He also served as Director of Rugby and Head Coach at the Exeter Chiefs between 2006 and 2009, England RFU Students Manager between 2010 and 2014, Head of Elite Coach Development at the Hong Kong Rugby Union from 2014 to 2017, Performance Coach Manager with the Wales Rugby Union between 2017 and 2018 as well as the Georgia Rugby Union where he has served as the General Manager in charge of High Performance since 2019.
