Jinja Hippos Rugby Club have settled on Charles Onen as their new Head Coach ahead of the new season.
Onen will work with Kevin Makmot who comes in as a backs and kicking coach and Sean Baldwin will serve as a forwards coach.
Jinja Hippos Chairman Jonan Manzi said :“Our objectives are to continue the progression we have made since joining the premier league while also ensuring we have a focus on the development of our second side and community rugby (women’s team).”
Onen on his part expressed delight in earning another chance to work with Hippos. He is keen to help improve the squad and guide them to achieve their set targets.
“I am delighted to be working with Jinja Hippos again ever since 2014/2015 season. Its a group of young passionate hard working young lads who i have worked with before and with the passion they have for the club.
“I’m here to improve the individual and unit skills in order to achieve the targets for the club (development and becoming the top club in the country).”
The side finished fourth on the log following five wins in nine matches played in the campaign. They lost lost four matches ending the with 25 points.
