Kenyan International Willy Ambaka won the European Rugby Club 7s Championship with Russian side Narvskaya Zastava Rugby Club on Sunday in a tournament held at St Petersburg on 4-5 September.
Zastava coached by former Kenya 7s assistant Coach Vuyo Zangqa also has Kenyan International Oscar Ouma. The side beat Lithuanian side Baltrex 31-14 in the final to win the Championship.
Ambaka landed two tries in the victory that saw them walk away with 20,000 pounds which is equivalent to Kshs. 3 Million.
To reach the final the side won two pools matches, beating Academy 31-0 and Posnania Poznzań 45-7 while they drew 14-14 with Samurai.
In the knock out stage, they saw off Switzers Geneva Rugby 22-14 before whipping Dukla Club 59-5 in the semis.
The tournament held at St. Petersburg was attended by the 12 strongest European teams from England, Spain, Italy, Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Sacartwell, Blatarus and Lithuania.
