Uganda Lady Cranes thrash Zimbabwe in Rugby Africa Cup encounter

Uganda Lady Cranes started off their Rugby Africa Women’s campaign with a comfortable 41-0 win over Zimbabwe in a match played at Kyadondo Grounds.

The side scored 31 points in the closing half to add on the 10 points scored in the first half to pick a huge win in the encounter. Samiya Ayikoru and Emilly Lekuru scored the first two tries in the opening half.

Peace Lekuru opened the second half tries before Grace Auma joined the scoresheet with a try that took the the scores to 24-0 after both tries were converted. Emilly and Peace returned to the scoresheet with their second tries of the day stretching the lead to 34-0.

Both sides were reduced to 14 with Teddy Iwutung and Andile Shamaine Moyo receiving yellow cards. Asha Nakityo scored a late try which Masitula Namboozo converted for a 41-0 .

The teams will face off on Sunday in the return leg match.
