Uganda 7s unleash squad for Olympics 7s Repechage

Uganda 7s Head coach Tolbert Onyango has named his squad that will travel to Monaco to hunt for a slot in the Tokyo Olympics.

Onyango’s 12-man squad consists of France based star Philip wokorach, skipper Michael Wokorach, Pirates speedster Solomon Okia and Aaron Ofoywroth.

Desire Ayera, Adrian kasito, Levis Ocen, Timothy kisiga, Isaac Massa, Nobert Okeny and Bryon Oketayot complete the list.

The matches are slated for 18th to 20th June 2021.

Uganda who are Africa Men’s 7s runners up are in Pool B which also has France, Hong Kong, Chile and Jamaica.

In Pool A, another core side Ireland will face off with the likes Samoa, Tonga, Zimbabwe and Mexico. Zimbabwe will kick off the competition with a match against Mexico while Uganda will face Jamaica in the second match.

On Day two, Zimbabwe will play Ireland, Samoa as Uganda play Hong Kong and France respectively. On the final day, Zimbabwe will take on Tonga and Uganda face Chile.

The matches will then head to the knock out stage with the winner qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics
