Uganda Cranes squad trimmed as preparations continue

Uganda Cranes coaching staff has trimmed the training squad from 72 to 34 players as preparations for the International season continue.

The team lead by coaches Brian Makalama and Robert Musinguzi started off their training on 22 May with a larger squad. The squad is without Uganda 7s players who are getting ready for the Olympics 7s Repechage.

Makalama says the players who made the cut showed the determination and willingness to learn. Those who have made the cut include Mwamba’s Nicholas Kato, Kenya Harlequins’ Mark Omoding, Eliphaz Emong, Ivan Magomu, Innocent Gwotko, Maxwell Ebonga, Semwami Daudi and Justin Kimono.

“We have retained determined players who are willing to learn and work as a unit. We shall just work on the unit skills and improve on their individual prowess to play.” Makalama said.
