Uganda Premiership final round fixtures and how title race could be decided

After eight weeks of an enticing yet grueling season, the Uganda Premiership enters its ultimate stage this weekend, with five matches on the card.

The highlight of the weekend will be at Legends, 4 pm, where table-toppers Kobs face Pirates in what has been dubbed as the “title decider” match.

Kobs, fresh off a 91-0 routing of Impis last weekend, will be assured of the title if they manage a draw or any win from this fixture, while Pirates require a bonus-point win from the clash and should deny their opponents Kobs two losing bonus points from the clash to be declared champions.

At Kyadondo, a doubleheader is up for the cards with Heathens, the only other side with a shot towards the title, facing Rhinos in the day’s early kickoff fixture, at 2 pm. Heathens chances are slim but they could be champions on point difference if they beat Rhinos with a huge margin and a bonus point, and Pirates beat Kobs minus a bonus point.

The other Kyadondo fixture will be a 4pm encounter pitting Buffaloes and Warriors.

At Damwaters, Hippos will be locking horns with Mongers, while Rams face Impis at Makerere. The two games are scheduled to start at 3pm and 4pm respectively.
