Heathens bounced back to winning ways in style whipping Warriors 41-0 in a Uganda Premiership clash staged on Saturday at Kyadondo.
The side which suffered the first defeat of the season against Kobs last weekend scored seven tries against struggling Warriors to keep their title defence hopes alive.
The opener was scored by Jordan Bongomin after Innocent Gwokto’s pass which saw the latter score at the corner. The two combined again and this time round it was Bongomin who fed Gwokto for a centre try. Paul Epillo added the extras for 12-0.
Arthur Mukama grabbed two more tries’, before Gwokto got his second off a maul for the side to take a 29-0 lead to the break.
Claude Otema would score the opening try of the second half as he dived over for the sixth try that Epillo converted.
Trevor Ochan scored the final try of the clash which went unconverted.
Kobs winning streak continued as they picked a 12-3 win over Jinja Hippos. The side however missed a bonus point after scoring just two tries.
Brian Ochan landed the lone try of the first half but James Ijongat conversion went. The first half ended with the visitors leading by a five pointer.
In the closing half, Adrian Kasito set up James Odong with a cross kick for the second try. Josiah Ssempeke added the extras stretching the lead to 12-0.
Maxwell Ebonga scored the consolation points from the tee for Hippos.
Pirates edged Buffaloes 12-10 in a match that Ivan Kabagambe and Ivan Magomu scored a try each for the former. It was Conrad Wanyama’s conversion on Magomu’s try which made the difference in the match.
Buffaloes had a converted try and penalty to hit 10 points in the match.
Mongers edged Rams 8-3 while Rhinos lost to Impis 20-19.
