For a third succesive match, Kenya failed to get the better of Argentina as they lost 36-19 to the South Americans in the second leg of the Madrid 7s in Spain on Sunday.
Kenya 7s went into the match seeking to avenge last weekend’s double losses to the Argentines, including a 21-14 defeat in the final of the first leg of the Madrid event.
Marcos Moneta opened the scoring for Argentina, going over at the corner for a try which was not converted.
Argentina then kicked the ball behind the Kenyan defense for their second try before Gaston Revol added the extras for a 12-0 lead.
Rodrigo Etchart cut through the Kenyan backline to touch down between the sticks as the South Americans started to run riot.
A move from a line out allowed Fernando Luna to add another try for Argentina who were fully in control.
Kenya then managed to pull one try back on the stroke of half-time as Bush Mwale raced to the tryline before Mark Kwemoi added the conversion.
Both teams managed to score two tries and one conversion in the second half with Jacob Ojee delivering Kenya’s five-pointers as Argentina held on for their third consecutive win over Shujaa.
