SX10 ended the World 10s Series round two campaign with a 42-5 win over Miami Sun in the second last clash of the day played at Bermuda National Stadium on Tuesday.
They will know their quarterfinal opponents after the conclusion of Tuesday matches with the quarters, semis and finals scheduled for Saturday.
Six tries by SX10 ensured the side bagged maximum points from the clash. Frankie Horne charges showed intent from the kick-off and a quick tap from a penalty from saw Cecil Afrika score his first try of the tournament which was converted for two points. Miami pulled back with an unconverted try.
Collins Injera would do his magic on the left-wing and offloaded to JT Jackson who raced to score the second try and convert for a 14-5 lead. SX10 would take a 14-point lead to the break thanks to Jackson’s second try which came after he received a pass from Afrika, sold a dummy and scored while under the pressure from Miami Sun players.
The fourth try came three minutes into the second half, Andrew Amonde who was on a break down the right flank fed supporting Oscar Dennis and the Kenya 7s playmaker scored a try that Jackson converted from long range for five points.
Dennis’ second try came after he spotted a gap on the right flank and raced to score. It was after Willy Ambaka collected an aerial kick by Miami. Craig Hunt scored the final try that sealed their victory.

It was a perfect bounce back for SX10’s whose first loss of the campaign came in their third match where they went down 14-10 to Ohio Aviators. In the loss, SX10 found themselves on a backfoot in the better part of the opening half. The pressure saw Ohio Aviators score two converted tries for a 14-0Â lead at halftime.
In the final half, SX10 fightback was halted severally by Aviators defence. Their breakthrough came at the 18th minute but their kicker failed to get two points from the tee. Collins Injera would then release supporting Willy Ambaka who produced a clean pair of heels to score the second try. JT Jackson chose a five-pointer conversion that could have won the game but his attempt couldn’t hit the target.
SX10 will be back in action on Saturday for the playoffs.
