SX10 will not feature in the opening round of the World 10s Series scheduled for Bermuda on Sunday and Monday after one unnamed player tested positive of COVID-19.
The Cape Town-based side has Kenyan Internationals Collins Injera, Andrew Amonde, Willy Ambaka and Oscar Dennis, It also has the likes JP Du Plessis and Cecil Afrika.
The rest of the squad tested negative twice but due to the restrictions by the Bermuda Government, they will have to self isolate hence missing the opening round which will be played from Sunday 25 October. They are expected back for the second round if they will test negative.
“The World Tens Series can confirm that one SX10Rugby10s player has returned a positive result. Round 1 continues with six teams and following a period of isolation, we hope to welcome their team back for R2,” reads part of the statement by World 10s Series.
With SX10s out, Asia Pacific Dragons (Singapore), Phoenix (Middle East), London Royals (London), Miami Sun (Florida), Rhinos (Southern California) and Ohio Aviators (Columbus) are the sides that will take part.
