Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) is set to offer partial scholarships to talented youngsters in Sports and Performing Arts.
The Kakamega based facility is looking for youngsters who will join MMUST rugby, the Handball, Hockey, Volleyball, Soccer, Basket Ball, Theatre Arts, Athletics and Netball teams. To qualify for the partial scholarships, degree applicants will need to have at least a C+ or a C plain and relevant Diploma recognized by the University’s senate.
For those who will be applying for diploma courses, they will be required to have at least a C- or another qualification recognized by the University’s senate. To earn the partial scholarship, one must demonstrate that he/she is excellent in the particular sporting activity he/she takes part in.

Degree applicants should be 22 years or below while Diploma applicants should 23 years and below. Those from needy backgrounds are also encouraged to apply for the scholarships. To get the scholarship, one will need to first apply for a chance in MMUST and then fill the Pre-requisite forms and attach a copy of admission letter or course application acknowledgement copy on the form.
The forms can be found at the University’s bookshop or University’s website www.mmust.ac.ke and submit them to the Dean of Students office by 23rd October 2020.
MMUST rugby are eyeing the top tier -Kenya Cup with one match remaining to determine if they will achieve their dream. The side led by Dr Ochieng Ahaya and John Asila won 15 of their 16 matches in the KRU Championship regular season.
They are awaiting a semi-final match against the winner between Mean Machine and Egerton. The date for the playoffs will be determined once the Government gives clubs greenlight to train.
