Fiji Rugby 7s team have received the World 7s Series Bronze medals.
The side picked 83 points in the first six legs of the World 7s Series. Gareth Baber charges had a slow start to the season but winning a Cup title in Sydney and a final appearance in Los Angeles saw the rise back to the top three.
The Season could however not be concluded due to the COVID-19 pandemic across the World and organizers resolved to cancel the season awarding leaders New Zealand the overall title while South Africa and Fiji were awarded the silver and Bronze medals.
“Our Fijian 7s team received their 2020 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Bronze medal earlier today after finishing third with 83 points in the 2020 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series,” reads a statement by Fiji Rugby Union.
They join South Africa who received their silver medals early on Monday.
