St Peters Mumias made history in 2016 becoming the first Kenyan side to win the East African (FEASSA) 7s Title after beating Kololo Secondary 21-14 at Eldoret Sports Club on 1 September 2016.
The side had finished third in the National School games after a 19-10 win over Maseno School in the third-place playoffs at Kangaru School in June.
Zedden Marrow and Bethuel Anami scored twice with John Sabato’s conversions bringing the side back to the game twice. Tom Maina landed the crucial try that saw the side become the second-ever side in history to bag the EA 7s title after Rwanda’s Hure.

Zeden Marrow- Centre
Zeden is one of the most successful members of the team. Zeden has maintained his slot as a centre and at times he is deployed on the wing. He missed the Under 20 squad that finished second in the Rugby Africa Barthes Cup played in Antananarivo in 2017.
A year later he made it to the squad and helped Paul Odera coached side to a second-place finish in the Barthes Cup held in Windhoek. Later in 2018, he was called up to the Kenya Simbas squad ahead of the World Cup qualifiers. His senior debut came in Casablanca as Kenya Simbas beat Morocco 28-24. He later played in several tournaments as Homeboyz went on to win the second National 7s Circuit title. The youngster made the 33-man list for the 2018 Repechage qualifying round preps but missed out on the final squad. The busy year for youngster ended with a trip to Dubai where his side Homeboyz reached the challenge trophy losing narrowly to Georgia Development side 22-21.
He has early played in the Safari 7s featuring for Homeboyz as they finished sixth.
In 2019 his side struggled in 15s and but managed a third place in the National 7s Circuit. He was part of the Homeboyz squad that finished third in the Kenya Cup regular season in 2019/20 campaign.
Angwech has also had his share of success after high school. He immediately joined Kabras after high school, had several appearances for the second string side before making his senior team debut on January 14 2017 at Railways Club as Kabras beat Mwamba 37-32. He is still at Kabras up to date with his major trophies with the side being the 2019 Enterprise Cup and Mwamba Cup all coming on 25 May 2019.
Angwech is a Kenya Cup finalist having featured in Kabras 23-15 loss to KCB at Kakamega Showground last year. 2019/20 season also saw him feature in the later stages as Kabras finished top of the log. He was also part of the 2019 Kabras’ National 7s Circuit squad.
After leaving St Peters, he made a move to Strathmore Leos where he studying and playing rugby. 2018 saw him make the final Chipu squad that represented the country in the Rugby Africa Barthes Cup held in Windhoek. Alongside his teammate Zedden, they helped Kenya to a second-place finish in the tournament with Kenya losing 37-18 to Namibia in the final.
He was part of the Strathmore Leos side that got relegated at the end 2018/19 season and won the Mwamba Cup. He has won the Impala Floodlit Varsity Category and he was among the top scorers in the KRU Championship 2019/20 season where Leos bullied their opponents to finish the regular season with a 100% win record.
He joined Angwech at Kabras and he has also enjoyed playtime in the Eric Shirley Shield side. Oseko won the 2019 Mwamba Cup with the Sugarmen beating Strathmore Leos 40-27 at RFUEA Grounds on May 25.
He has been a regular in the side that finished second in the 2019/20 regular season.

Kubasu is currently plying his trade with Championship side Northern Suburbs. He made history with the side in 2019 as they went on to scoop the Nationwide title and qualified for KRU Championship-Kenya’s second tier. In the Championship the Cubs have had an impressive run finishing fifth on the log in the regular season.
Otieno has been with Homeboyz but has featured for the senior side mostly in the shorter versions. He helped the Deejays finish second in the 2019 Great Rift 10s tournament in Nakuru. Later in 2019, he appeared for the Homeboyz 7s squad in three tournaments as they went on to pick a third-place finish in the National 7s Circuit. He is yet to break into the senior 15s team.
Tom Maina joined the Cooperative University of Kenya and was part of their 2019 squad that featured in Nairobi Nationwide.
Johnson Sabato Scrumhalf
Sabato joined Karen Based Catholic Monks and has been a regular in their 15s squad as well the 7s side. He also featured in the Varsity League and Impala Floodlit tournaments with the Students.
Josec Odong- Not much involved in the game after High School. He last trained with Kabras and he is reported to have joined the army.
Kelvin Ambuka-Not much involved in the game after High School. Last trained with Kisumu. Reportedly joined the police.
Jones Mutebi- He joined Mount Kenya University
Kevin Manucho- Was Not much involved in the game after High School.
Livondo Shimenga – Coach: He is currently coaching Butula Boys in Busia County.
