Kenya 7s Vancouver 7s campaign came to an end after a 12-7 defeat to Scotland in the ninth-place semis played at BC Place.
Shujaa is set to walk away with six points from the tournament after the loss. This clash was a repeat of the Los Angeles 7s 13th place final which Kenya lost 29-24 in extra time after a 24-24 tie in regular time at Dignity Park last Sunday.
Scotland struck first through Harvey Elms at the second minute of the clash and Gavin Lowe added the extras for a 7-0 lead which only lasted for two minutes. Kenya drew level after Oscar Dennis crossed the whitewash for a five-pointer while Daniel Taabu’s conversion saw the side reach seven points.
Scotland came from the break and restored their lead thanks to Alec Coombes eighth minute try. The Scotts failed to add the extras but held on to knock Kenya out of the competition.
Scotland will proceed to the ninth place finals while Kenya who managed just one win in the five matches played will focus on the upcoming legs.
