South Africa avenged their Hamilton 7s defeat by beating Kenya 7s 31-5 in the opening clash of the Los Angeles 7s played on Saturday.
Paul Feeney charges came to this seeking to impress after a disappointing outing in Sydney 7s. They were in search of back to back wins over SA having beaten them 36-14 in Hamilton.

South Africa enjoyed possession in the opening minutes and managed to score through Angelo Davids at the third minute of the game. The resultant conversion hit the uprights.
The African giants added the second try after through JC Pretorius who dived over near the goalpost allowing Selvyn Davids to have an easy conversion.
Kenya would head to break trailing 12-5 thanks to a late try by Will Ambaka. The try was after Kenya were awarded a penalty and Oscar Ouma released Ambaka who was unmarked on the left-wing. Daniel Taabu failed to add the extras.
Werner Kok who was playing his 50th tournament was set up three minutes into the second half and dotted at the left side of the try box. His try was converted to send the side 19-5 up.
Three minutes later Muller du Plessis landed the fourth try for SA widening the gap after evading Vincent Onyala. Branco Du Preez would score the final try for a 31-5 win. Kenya have picked a point in the loss and will face Ireland who won their opening match at 01:31am.
