Mombasa move two points above danger-zone after win over USIU

Mombasa RFC beat USIU 17-3 in a rescheduled KRU Championship clash staged at Mombasa Sports Club on Saturday.

The former Kenya Cup side scored two converted tries and a penalty. Chrissant Ojwang landed the opening try while Michael Nyambok scored the second try.

The two tries were converted by Joseph Musyoki who also managed one penalty. USIU consolation points were scored by captain Eliud Mulakoli.

Mombasa picked four points in the win and have level points with Catholic Monks who have also not had a good season.  USIU remain fourth on the log with 28 points. The Martials will be back in action to tackle Kisii in a tricky away fixture.

On the other hand, Mombasa will battle with South Coast Pirates.
