Kakamega, Mombasa among regions picked to host Kenya Simbas 2020 matches

Kenya Rugby Union has announced venues for the Kenya Simbas 2020 matches set to kick off in May.

According to a statement by the Union, Mombasa, Kakamega and Nakuru will get a chance to host Kenya Simbas test matches. Mombasa will host the Rugby Africa Cup opening clash pitting Kenya Simbas and Morocco which is slated for Saturday 29 May.

Kakamega has been put on the schedule and it will host the Elgon Cup which will also double up as a Victoria Cup clash. The match is slated for 11 July 2020.

For the second time in a row, Nakuru will host the Victoria Cup clash pitting Kenya Simbas and Zimbabwe. The match will be played on Saturday 18 July. Paul Odera coached side will be expected to travel to Côte d’Ivoire on 27 June 2020 to play Côte d’Ivoire in second Rugby Africa Cup Pool B clash.

The winner of the pool will proceed to the semis set for 29 July and the final will be on 1 August in venues that will be decided later.

Kenya v Zimbabwe – Saturday 18 July 2020, Nakuru

Final tournament in a single venue to be determined:
29 July: Semifinals
1 August: Third place play-off and final
