Blak Blad: Preparedness gave us victory over Impala

Blak Blad coach Williams Motto has attributed his team’s victory against Impala over the weekend to team preparedness.

Speaking to The Scrummage, Motto applauded his boys saying they rose above the expectation. “The boys rose above the expectation we did ground checks for instance in scrums and the boys executed them well, forwards gave their momentum and the backs gave the crucial tries.” Motto said.

He also noted his kickers Kelvin Gathu effort and contribution to the win. “My kicker also gave us crucial points in penalties and conversions.”

Blad captain Ian Obukwa also had his bit to add saying the boys were well composed and had made polishments after the Mwamba game.

” The boys were composed, we had to polish we did wrong in the Mwamba game and fortunately it worked for us,” Obukwa told Scrummage.

Blad who beat Impala 20-17 for the first time in last five years in the 15s version of the game now lie ninth on the Kenya cup log  and are off the relegation berth with 18 points leaving Kisumu and Western Bulls in the relegation danger.
