Fiji beat South Africa to win Sydney 7s

World 7s Series defending Champions Fiji are the Sydney 7s winners after edging South Africa 12-10 to claim the first Cup title this season.

Fiji were off to flying start and Napolioni Bolaca kicked a loose ball before racing on to score the opening try for Fiji. He converted from a tight angle for 7 points.

South Africa responded through JC Pretorius who touched at the left side for five points. Josua Vakurunabili was sin-binned for a should charge in the build-up to South Africa’s try.

Despite being one man down, Bolaca landed another try that saw Fiji lead 12-5 at Halftime. In the closing half, Zain Davids dived at the left corner for an unconverted try for South Africa which saw them trim the gap to two points.

Fiji held on to a slim lead to win.
