Kakamega edge St Peters to win Yala 15s Tourney

East African 15s Titleholders Kakamega High are the winners of the Yala 15s Tournament after pipping St Peters Mumias 3-0 at St Mary’s Yala Grounds.

The Barbarians who were recently awarded as the School Team of the year at the SOYA Awards scored just a penalty to win the closely contested clash.

To reach the finals, Kakamega beat Rift Valley defending Champions Kabianga 6-3 while St Peters needed a converted try to eliminate Nduru School in the semis.

Kakamega played five matches in the tournament, scored 42 points and conceded only three points. Their biggest win in the tournament was a 21-0 win over Vihiga.

Kakamega High are set to take part in the Maseno Opens Tournament which will be the second Pre-season outing.
