Kenya 7s Nakuru camp kicks off

Kenya 7s have kicked off their training camp in Nakuru County ahead of the third and fourth leg of the World 7s Series set for Hamilton and Sydney.

The team started off the camp with a gym session at Menengai Oiler’s bases early on Monday morning. They later proceeded to Moi Showground where they concentrated on cardio endurance. The aim of the Nakuru camp is to help the team fine-tune their game plan ahead of the Hamilton and Sydney 7s.

Last week, Shujaa assistant coach Kevin Wambua confirmed that the team will be having three sessions per day and they are set to have split intensity sessions, with two days being high-intensity and two being of mid-intensity.

Hamilton and Sydney will be competitive as it will have no quarters. Kenya 7s are pooled together with South Africa, England and Japan. The pool winner will proceed directly to the semi-finals.

They head to Hamilton having impressed in Cape Town where they picked 11 points and lost just one match. Shujaa have 15 points in the opening two rounds and they sit 11th on the overall standings.
