Kenya 7s are set to have a four-day camp in Nakuru starting 12 to 15 January as they intensify preparation for the third and fourth round of World 7s Series.
According to Kenya Rugby Union, the session in Nakuru are to help the team fine-tune their game plan ahead of the Hamilton and Sydney 7s. The team is set to have three sessions per day.
“Shujaa is scheduled to have a four day camp in Nakuru from the 12th to the 15th of January,” reads a statement by KRU.
Coach Kevin Mwema says the team is having split intensity sessions, with two days being high-intensity and two being of mid-intensity.
“We have mixed this week’s training sessions such that we have two high-intensity days and two mid-intensity days. The high-intensity days are Tuesday and Thursday while Monday and Friday are the mid-intensity days. We divided the days in this order because several of the players will be featuring for their clubs during the Kenya Cup,” Mwema is quoted by KRU.
Hamilton and Sydney will be competitive as it will have no quarters. Kenya 7s are pooled together with South Africa, England and Japan. The pool winner will proceed directly to the semi-finals.
