Nakuru RFC coach Felix Oloo has confirmed the signing of Kevin Kaboole, Victor Matiko, Blastus Juma and Thomas Okeyo in the just concluded transfer window.
Kaboole joins Nakuru after leaving Kabras while Matiko and Juma have joined the club from Menengai Oilers. Okeyo who is currently having trials with Kenya under 20 squad joins from Kabianga HigH School.
Oloo says Walter Okoth is still their player despite Kabras revealing they were closing on in on the centre. The coach insisted that the youngster is still committed to the club.
“We have brought in good players. We have Kevin Kaboole, Victor Matiko, Blastus Juma and Thomas Okeyo who have complete permanent moves to our club. Walter Okoth is still our player and he is still committed to the club, so we will wait and see,” Oloo told Scrummage.
Kaboole will be in contention for a start against his former employers who are set to visit Nakuru Athletic Club in the opening clash of 2020 set for 11 January. Kabras Head coach Henly Du Plessis confirmed to Scrummage on Friday that Kaboole together with several youngsters left the Kakamega based side in the window.
“Kevin is no longer with us, he left. He is the lone senior player who I can confirm that has left the club. Some youngsters have also left and we have replaced them,” he told Scrummage.
The loose forward has been barely used in the 2019/20 Kenya Cup season with his last 15s match in Kenya Cup being the Final which they lost 23-15 to KCB at Kakamega Showground. He also won the Enterprise Cup with the side beating Impala in the final.
Kaboole was part of the Kabras 7s squad which finished ninth on the overall standings with 42 points, he, however, missed the final leg due to a ban.
