MMUST Rugby captain Samuel Mbeche has dedicated their 51-9 win against South Coast Pirates to departed Patron Fredrick Otieno.
Otieno passed on 17 December while undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Tophill hospital.
Mbeche says they put in more effort this being the final clash of the year. He noted that everything went according to play hence a huge win in the assignment.
“We expect a win and got it. We were focused and everything went according to plan. We urged everyone to give his all because this was the final match of year before we break for Christmas. We wanted to do it for Prof and we dedicate the win to him,” Mbeche told Scrummage.

The captain admits South Coast Pirates are a good side but being well conditioned and working at a high speed was key in their win.
“South Coast are a good side but we dominated the better part of the clash and maximized on our speed,” he added.
Mmust have 35 points out of the possible 45 in the opening nine matches of the season. The Kakamega based side has eight wins and have three bonus points.
