Strathmore hit UoE Trojans to end year unbeaten in KRU Championship

Strathmore Leos fine run in the Championship saw them pick the ninth straight win of the season, thrashing UoE Trojans 52-13 in Eldoret.

Leos scored 28 points in the first half and added 24 more points in the closing half. Their first try came in the first minute,  with Alex Maina dotting while Lucas Opal drilled in a conversion.  The hosts UoE replied with a penalty.

Strathmore then scored the second and third try via Clinton Imbuye at the eighth and 18th minute. Opal converted all the tries for 21-0.  Maina also returned to the scoresheet for his second try and Opal conversion ensured a 28-6 lead at halftime.

Captain Gabriel Odero opened the second half scores and Antony Omondi pulled back for UoE after Imbuye was sent off. The side also conceded a yellow card but despite being 13, they landed tries via Andrew Matoka and Gideon Makumi.

Opal signed off with a converted try.
