Kabras II picked a 29-19 win over Menengai Oilers in an Eric Shirley Shield match played at the Bull Ring in Kakamega on Saturday afternoon.
The Sugarmen landed two tries in the opening half and added three more in the closing half for the win. Jeason Musoga fed Steve Olouch for the opening try and Bede Enoda added the extras for 7-0 lead. Olouch crossed over the second try minutes later for a 12-0 lead.
Oilers struck at the other end scoring a try after several phases and conversion saw them cut the gap to five points. They tied the scores at 12-12 after scoring from a line out. Olouch bagged his third try before Dan Angwech picked quickly from the ruck to cross over. Nictor Nandasaba added the extras for a 24-12.
George Makachia then received the ball from Angwech to land the final try for Kabras. Oilers got on the scoresheet following a try from pick and drives.
KCB were the biggest winners of the day thrashing Nondies 49-15 and Nakuru picked a 36-8 win against Kisumu. Blak Blad edged Kenya Harlequins for a 27-26 while Mwamba lost 22-15 to Homeboyz.
