Kenyatta University win KUSA National Rugby games

Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad have bagged the KUSA National Rugby 7s games title after a 17-7 win over UoE Trojans in the final played at Moi University Grounds.

Dennis Odhiambo and Ian Obukwa crossed over for Kenyatta’s tries while Lionel Ajeliti got on the scoresheet with a conversion for their win. Their opponents UoE bagged just one converted try.

To reach the finals, Kenyatta University eliminated hosts Moi Arsonist following another 17-7 win while UoE edged out USIU  17-14 to make it to the finals.

The losing semi-finalists met at the third-place playoff and Moi Arsonists emerged as winners beating USIU 19-7 in a match that Eugene Omondi raced on to score three times.

Strathmore Leos finished fifth after beating thrashing Rongo University 48-5.  Bomet University College beat Meru 29-0 to finish seventh in the tournament which involved eight sides.

Kenyatta University are set to represent Kenya in the East African University Games.
