Kenya Cup side Mwamba RFC have made changes to the technical bench with former Kenyan International Tito Oduk coming in as the Director of Rugby.
Oduk comes in to replace the long-serving Director of Rugby Edwin Waita who has exited the stage. According to the Club’s official portal, Oduk will be in charge of all the three squads (men, women and development). He will also oversee the team’s recruitment and player development.
They have been reports that the club will have a new head coach but the club has confirmed that Kevin Wambua will maintain his role as the Head Coach and will be assisted by Louis Kisia and former Kenya international Peter Kepha.
Kisia joins the technical bench after he hung up his boots after 14 years playing for the club. He was also in charge of the club’s sevens team that finished second in the just-concluded National Sevens Circuit.
Joseph Baabu remains Mwamba Ladies head coach for the coming season. Kepha returns to the club after spending time with Nondiescript and later with Strathmore Leos. Kepha was part of the all-conquering Mwamba Sevens team that dominated the local scene between 2008 and 2010. He also played for Kenya Simbas. He brings to the club wealth of experience, leadership and mentorship skills.
Fahad Adil Mohammed will be the club’s overall team manager assisted by Alphonce Mwachia and Stephanie-Rose Otieno. Stephanie-Rose will also double as Stanbic Mwamba Ladies Team Manager.
Dr James Ondiege will be the club’s Team Doctor with Ben Mahinda and Levyce Kituyi being team’s physiotherapists.
Patrick Ruhiu will don the captain’s armband for the next season. His assistants and Leadership Group will be announced at a later date.
