Kenya 7s technical bench has named a 24-man provisional squad ahead of the 2019 Safari7s tournament taking place on the 18th to 20th October at the RFUEA Grounds.
Menengai Oilers playmaker Davis Nyaundi, Mwamba’s Joel Inzuga and Mike Okello, Nondies Ian Mabwa, Nakuru’s Monate Akuei have made the cut.
Timothy Mmasi of MMUST has been picked and he joins KCB Michael Wanjala who makes the cut for the first time since Paul Treu reign. Collins Injera, Willy Ambaka and Billy Odhiambo are also part of the squad.
The rest of the squad has players who feature at the 2018/20 season.
The team has been in session for the last two months preparing for the tournament under the tutelage of Kevin Wambua.
A fortnight ago, KRU appointed Paul Feeney to take charge of this team as the Technical Director. “We have made some great improvements on our structures, we’re working hard on our strengths as well as our individual skills. I believe we are on target on putting out a great show during the Safari sevens,” says Feeney.
