The Kenya Rugby Union will on Friday 20 September unveil New Zealand tactician Paul Feeney as the Kenya 7s Head coach.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the coach will be unveiled at RFUEA Grounds on Friday morning. Feeney has coached Fiji leading them to the 2005 Rugby Sevens World Cup victory. He has coached at Western Province and the Stormers as well as Blues and Auckland in New Zealand.
Feeney will replace Paul Murunga who has been in charge for the side for close to a year. Their were reports that Kevin Wambua was set to replace Murunga but that will not be the case.
Exiting Pau has been under fire following the Kenya 7s struggles which saw them wait till the final leg to avoid relegation.
Pau took over the role from Innocent Simuyu who had led Kenya to attain a record 110 points from the 10 outings. Pau‘s only managed 38 points during his tenure which saw several dependable senior players stay away due to disagreements over pay cuts.
