Following the completion of Rugby Americas North Regional Champions, Canada have joined the list of the sides that will be taking part in the 2019 World Junior Trophy.
They will join pool A which has Kenya Under 20, Japan and Uruguay. To book a slot in the competition, Canada beat USA 67-38 on aggregate. Canada defeated USA 44-33 in the first leg and added 23-5 win to qualify for Junior Trophy competition for the third time in a row.
Pool B has Tonga, Portugal, Hong Kong and hosts Brazil. The tournament will be held in São José dos Campos from 9-21 July.
Chipu’s first match will be on Tuesday 9 July against Uruguay at 11 PM. The side will have a three-day rest before their second match which will be against Canada on 13 July.
The final Pool stage clash will be against Japan on 17 July. The youngsters are currently preparing for the tournament and they are expected to play a friendly match against a Prescott select side on Saturday 15 June.
