Kenya 7s squad produced the one of best performance over the weekend as they went on to avoid relegation from the World 7s Series.
It was the best performance of the season as they made it to the fifth place semis and collected 10 points from the outing. Kenya 7s scored 92 points in the outing and Nelson Oyoo was the top points scorer for Kenya 7s with 25 points. He crossed over five times to finish the campaign as Kenya 7s top try scorer.
Michael Wanjala finished as the second best points scorer with 20 points thanks to his 10 conversion for the side in the tournament. Two tries for Andrew Amonde and Bush Mwale saw them score 10 points for Kenya. Youngster Johnstone Olindi bagged seven points for the side after a try and a conversion.
Jeff Olouch, Charles Omondi, Cyprian Kuto, and Jacob Ojee managed to score five points each for Kenya 7s in the two day tournament.
Mwale and Oyoo topped the list of the players who had most clean breaks for Kenya in Paris with four each. Amonde, Olindi and Olouch managed two clean breaks while Omondi and Ojee had one each.
Olindi had the most runs made in the campaign with 25 while Mwale came second with 24. Olouch with 18, Amonde 17 and Nelson Oyoo completea the top five list with five. Mwale, Wanjala had the most tackles made (7) while Olindi and Oyoo came second with six.
After the tournament Amonde who was lively through out the tournament made it to the dream team while Olindi and Mwale were ranked among the DHL impact players of the tournament.
