Samurai 7s with Kenyan stars outshine opponents at Amsterdam 7s day one

Samurai International had an impressive day one at the Amsterdam 7s matches played on Saturday 1 June 2019.

Their first match saw them whitewash AAC Adventurers from Netherlands 77-0 in just 14 minutes. Nick Wakley coached side ran 13 tries and converted six of those tries to make their intentions clear.

In the second match, there fine form continued as they whipped Mo Bros 45-0. The side dotted seven tries and converted five. Oscar Ouma scored the opening try while Collins Injera who scored nine tries for the side last weekend at St Petersburg sold a dummy to add the second try.

Mwamba RFC centre Billy Odhiambo was hard to stop and he crossed over for three tries to hand the side a deserved win. The side would finish day one by beating Lithuanian 7s 26-19. Four tries and three conversions were enough for the side.

On Sunday 2 June, the side will be in action for a clash against Wooden Spoon Marauders and Projecx Waterboys.  The side has had a successful outings in Amsterdam as they have won 12 titles.

They are the defending Champions having won there last year. The side will be seeking to better last weekend’s performance which saw them finish fifth at the European 7s.
