Fiji 7s are the 2019 World 7s Series Champions after beating their closest challenger USA in the Semis of the Paris 7s on Sunday 2 June.
Their appearance in the Paris 7s final means the minimum points they can attain at the end of tournament is 183. USA who will be fighting for the bronze can only get 179 points should they finish third.
This is their fourth World 7s Series title and have been champions in 2006, 2015, 2016 and now 2019. South Africa won it 2017 and 2018.
To win the title they beat USA 33-14. Vilimoni Botitu offload to Meli Derenalagi saw they open the scores while Sevuloni Mocenacagi added their second try. Jerry Tuwai was sent off for a sinbin but Fiji only allowed in one try.
It was Carlin Isles who crossed over while Madison Hughes converted it. Isles was however forced off with an injury.
Jerry Tuwai, Botitu and Isoa Tabu added more tries for their win. Fiji will face off with the winner of the semi-final two which is a clash between New Zealand and South Africa.
