Kenya Under 20 side have received a sponsorship boost worth 2 Million shillings from Haco Industries a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods company ahead of the World Junior Trophy set for Brazil.
The deal will see Amara come on board as Chipu’s official grooming partner ahead of the competition set for June 2019. HACO Head of Marketing Mwihaki Wachira says they are looking forward to having a long term deal with the rugby as it has put the country on the map.
“The sponsorship is to the tune of Kshs. 2,000,000. Much as this is a small beginning, we are looking forward to greater partnerships in the future.”Wachira said.
“We are delighted to be here. Rugby has put our country on the map and we are looking forward to having a long term partnership,” he added.

Kenya Rugby Union Chairman Odour Gangla is delighted to see sponsors coming on board to sponsor the youngsters. The Union is also running a campaign another campaign dubbed #AshillingforChipu aimed at raising cash to support the side during the World Junior Trophy.
The Chairman has assured that union will account for every shilling raised through the campaign.
“It is always encouraging to see a local sponsor coming in to support our young talent. The KRU is very grateful for this partnership. We shall account for the money received through the #AShillingForChipu initiative as we head to the tournament,” he said.
“The parents of Chipu have been very supportive to this team as they prepare for the world rugby U20 Trophy,” he concluded.
Kenya Under are pooled alongside Uruguay, Japan and the winner of the USA, Canada clash.
