Blak Blad among the unbeaten at Great Rift 10s, MMUST beat KCB

Blak Blad and MMUST were the lone sides that didnt drop points on day one at the Great Rift 10 Aside tournament held at Nakuru Athletic Club.

Oilers, Impala and Homeboyz remained unbeaten after registering a draw in their final match. Oilers allowed Nakuru to stage a comeback for a 5-5 draw.

Oilers started off by bagging an unconverted try and held on till the halftime break. In the closing half, Nakuru fought back to level the scores and the match ended in a draw.

Pool C

In Pool C, Blak Blad finished top beating Strathmore Leos 12-5. Achadius Khwesa scored the final try for Michael Otieno coached side.  UoE bagged a 20-0 win over Moi University to grab the third spot.

MMUST topped Pool B after beating KCB 12-5. Clause Shirievo scored the opening try while skipper Samuel Mbeche crossed over for the second try with handed them the win. Both sides had qualified for the quarters before the face off. Egerton Wasps were awarded a 24-0 win due to Kiambu’s absence.

Nondies picked the first win of the tournament, beating JKUAT Cougars 27-0 in their final pool A match. They finished third in the pool while JKUAT have finished bottom. Homeboyz and Impala Saracens who had qualified earlier played to a goalless draw and the latter would top the pool due to superior goal difference.
