Nationwide Regional finals results

Moi Arsonists comfortably edged out their cross-town rivals Eldoret RFC 27-8 in the Rift Nationwide finals staged at Fr.Kizito grounds, Moi University.

Jeremy Opis had a brace with Kelvin Masibo and Tony Khadambi having a try each. Solomon Ngoya booted one penalty and two conversions.

Arsonists drew first blood with a successful penalty goal taken by Ngoya after an infringement by the visitors in their red zone. Jeremy Opis would land the first try of the match in the corner but Ngoya missed the conversion.

In the second stanza, Eldoret tried to claw back to the game and were rewarded with a penalty goal. The Arsonists dominated the visitors upfront keeping them in their back foot and this provided the platform for their backline to shine. Inside centre Kelvin Masibo scored the second try after selling his dummy before putting the foot on the gas pedal to ground the ball.

Moi were not done yet, a short pass to Junior Mwenda saw him drag two defenders before offloading to Tony Khadambi to score under the posts.  Ngoya added the extras for a 22-3 lead. Eldoret pulled one back through Sylvester Indagasi after a pick and drive from him saw him ground it just before the whitewash. After a few consultations with the touch judge, the center referee decided to award the try.

Jeremy Opis completed his brace after landing the fourth and the last try of the match in the corner for a 27-8 win.
