Maurice Longbottom was the first player on the scoresheet as he managed to breach Kenya’s defence for the first converted try. A minute later Henry Hutchinson crossed over for the second converted try after slipping past Kenya’s defence line.
Longbottom would then set up Miller who dived over for the third straight try just before the break. In the closing half, Bush Mwale cut the gap to 14 points but Hutchison would stretch the lead again for Australia.
Jeffery Olouch bulldozed his way to the try line for Kenya’s second but their efforts to stage a comeback were hampered after Nelson Oyoo was sin-binned after an intentional tap.
Shujaa now shift the focus to the challenge trophy.
