Oscar Ouma wins HKFC10’s Bowl with Tiger, EA Hunters fail to star

Nakuru RFC centre Oscar Ouma featured for USA’s Tiger Rugby as they won the third-tier Bowl at the Hong Kong 10s tournament held on Thursday in Hong Kong.

The side which had lost all their opening three matches on day one redeemed themselves by whipping Natixis HKFC 35-14 in the Bowl Quarterfinal clash. Ben Broselle bagged a brace while Cody Melphy, Nick Chapman, Joey Sok dotted a try each. Melphy and Kitione Taliga added a conversion each in the win.

In the Bowl Semis, PJ Van Zyl and Liam Draycott crossed over for a try each for a 12-0 win over Irish Vikings.

The side would complete their impressive run on day two after edging French Pyrenees 12-7. Kitione Taliga and Ben Broselle in the win.

East Africa Hunter and Boo lost all their matches on day two of the tournament. Their Bowl Quarterfinal clash ended in a 3-0 loss to Asia Pacific Dragons.

In the Shield final, Sam Onsomu and Angelo Nelson scored a try each but the side lost 12-10 Taikoo Place Scottish Exiles.

The overall tournament was won by Biarritz Gavekal who bagged a hat-trick of Hong Kong titles. The side staged a comeback to Samurai International 19-7 in the Cup final at Hong Kong Football Club for the third title in a row.
