Kenya blank Uganda in World 7s Series qualifiers pool B clash

Kenya Lionesses started off the Womens’ World 7s Series qualifier with a 24-0 win over Uganda in a match played on Thursday morning at So Kon Po Recreation Ground.

The Lionesses started off brilliantly and by the third minute, they managed to get on the scoresheet. Captain Philadelphia Olando crossed the whitewash to score the first try of the match.  Two minutes later, Janet Okelo doubled the lead after dotting the second try.

Grace Adhiambo added the extras and Kevin Wambua charges would take a 12-0 lead to the break. The second half saw the side add 12 more points. Two minutes after the break, Adhiambo converted Christabel Lindo’s try to put Kenya 19-0 up.

Adhiambo would score the final try that took the scores to 24-0 for Kenya.  Kenya will tackle hosts Hong Kong in the second match before facing Papua Guinea in the final group stage match.
