Mwamba face Nondies in the first of their two final matches of the regular Kenya cup season and coach Kevin Wambua is optimistic that it will be a good outing saying his team will just have to pick up from where they left last week.
The coach was referring to a blistering second half performance from his team against KCB last weekend. A good half by any standards, putting two tries past KCB who could only reply with a penalty.
Mwamba are confident of replicating that performance when they the Red lions who come into the clash on the back of a loss away to Oilers in Nakuru.
“We just have to pick up from how we played in the second half and correct a few errors we made in the first half that gave KCB the much needed go forward.” Wambua said.
Mwamba are Sixth in the standings with a total of 39 points, just two points off Nondies who are placed fourth. A good defence and improvement at the set piece area is what Wambua will be looking to work on heading into the clash.
“We will try improve our set pieces and improve our off the line defence. The boys have good intensity so we just improve on our set pieces and our defensive shape and it will be a good game for us.”
A win for Kulabu will largely boost their play off chances while a loss for Nondies will be as fatal as it can get, falling out of the top six if Nakuru pick a win.
