Catholic University maintained top spot in the standings with 53 points after beating Ngong RFC 34-3 over the weekend while Western Bulls are second on half a century after recording a 7-13 win away to UOE, both teams having picked 11 wins along the way.
USIU is third on 45 points, having played one game less after their game against South Coast Pirates was postponed while Kisumu takes the fourth position having amassed a total of 37 points.
Monks, Bulls and USIU are firmly in the play offs with two rounds of the regular season left to play. Kisumu RFC also seem comfortable in fourth position after picking a 8-0 win over Kisii at the Kisumu Polytechnic and they look poised to grace the play offs again this year.
MMUST and Kisii are fifth and sixth respectively with a total of 34 and 28 points respectively. Kisii blew away their chance to put pressure on both Kisumu and MMUST when they lost to Kisumu over the weekend while the students continued their winning streak with a 29-9 win over fellow students UOE. Kisii will need to win both their remaining fixtures against UOE and MMUST to secure a play off position while MMUST will also be keen not to slip with Mombasa and UOE lurking.
Mombasa, UOE and Egerton Wasps are placed seventh, eighth and ninth, Mombasa on 27 points while UOE and Wasps tie on 26 points. They will be looking for a perfect finish to the season and hope Kisii and MMUST drop points. UOE will be meeting Kisii in round 15 while Mombasa will host Egerton.
Kitale and SC Pirates are tied on 19 points as they look to avoid relegation while Ngong RFC are ranked lowest with just 15 points. The relegation battle is set to go down to the last match as things stand.
