KCB completed a double over Mwamba after a 27-20 win in a Kenya Cup clash played at Jamhuri Grounds.
The Bankers were eyeing a double having won the first leg encounter 33-13. Curtis Olago charges landed the opening try in the opening five minutes through scrum-half Michael Wanjala. The former Homeboyz RFC man converted his own try to send his side seven points up.
Mwamba responded with a penalty from Tony Omondi to trim the gap to four points. Wanjala would stretch their lead with a converted try after a beautiful run from his own half.
Mwamba skipper Patrick Ruhiu intercepted a kick from KCB and fed centre Billy Odhiambo who raced to give Mwamba five points. Wanjala’s impressive run in the match continued as he set up Brian Nyikuli who crossed over for the third try of the match.
Eighth-man Peter Waitere scored the final try of the opening half, taking the scores to 24-8.
The bankers seemed to have finished the job as they added only scored three points in the final half through Wanjala. Kenyan International Collins Injera landed two tries for Mwamba but it was too late to catch up with the bankers.
Wanjala amassed 17 points for his side.
