African Mens 7s second runners up Uganda Cranes have named their 12 man squad expected to take part in the World 7s Series qualifiers tournament in Hong Kong in early April.
The team consists of Kabras ace Philip Wokorach and Kenya Harlequins halfback Aaron Ofoirwoth. Former Kabras centre Puis Ogeno and former Quins man Joseph Aredo have also been included.
Other key names in the squad include Michael Wokorach, Adrian Kasito, Timothy Kisiga, Paul Masendi and Ian Munyani.
Uganda are in Pool G alongside Chile, Germany and Cook Islands. Pool E has hosts Hong Kong who will square it out with Tonga, African Mens 7s Champions Zimbabwe and Philippines while Pool F has Ireland, Russia, Uruguay, and Jamaica.
12 teams will take part in the matches, with the winner earning a slot as a core team to the world series in 2020 season.
Last year’s edition saw Japan win after beating Ireland, Uruguay and Germany in the knock out to earn top tier status. Spain were the 2017 winners.
