Immediate former Kenya Rugby Union secretary general Odour Gangla has been elected as the new Chairman for the next four years.
Gangla replaces Richard Omwela who has served in the position for the last two years. Gangla amassed a total of 33 votes while Sasha Mutai came second after receiving 20 votes, Asiko got two votes. It is the second time in a row that Mutai is finishing second in the elections, in 2017 he lost by two votes to Omwela.

As he takes his new role as the chairman, the Secretary-General position remains vacant and the board will have a meeting to deliberate on who will fill the slot.
Before taking up the secretary position in the Union, Gangla was the chairman for Kenya Cup side Impala. He played for Mean Machine, Blak Blad, Strathmore Leos, and Impala.
