Strathmore Leos have ended their four-match losing streak after a narrow 10-7 win over Mean Machine in a match played on Saturday.
Heading the clash both sides needed a win with maximum points having won once this season. Strathmore’s last win came on match day eight against Homeboyz while Mean Machine’s last win was on matchday two.
In the match, Strathmore Leos lead through Barnabas Owour but they failed to add the extras. Machine responded via Bruce Odhiambo and Festus Shiasi added the extras for a lead.
Minutes before the half-time Leos would charge down a clearance by their fellow students’ and Gideon Makumi pounced on the ball and crossed over for their second try. The second half ended scorelessly and Strathmore would the walk away with four points.
The win becomes Leos second of the season and it takes them to 14 points, two behind Blak Blad who lost 69-0 to Kabras.
